Endothia Canker

Endothia Canker (Endothia gyrosa) - Endothia cankers are most oftentimes caused by pruning cuts or other wounds that are inflicted upon oak trees. Evidence of this fungus is found in small orange pustules on or near the surface of the canker. This can lead to longterm weakening or even tree mortality. Branches infected with Endothia should be removed and propertly sealed with wound paint to prevent further infection.
